Kenya Breakfast With Giraffes At Giraffe Manor

If you have ever scrolled through Pinterest or double-tapped those jaw-dropping Instagram pics featuring giraffes peering into a fancy breakfast room, chances are you have stumbled upon the captivating Giraffe Manor in Kenya.

Imagine sipping your morning coffee while these towering creatures casually join you for breakfast – it sounds like something out of a dream, doesn’t it? Well, that dream became a reality for me when I recently visited Giraffe Manor, and let me assure you, it’s every bit as cool as those photos suggest.  But here’s the scoop: Is it worth the big bucks you have to spend?

Giraffe Manor has become an Instagram sensation, and the reason is crystal clear – you get ridiculously close to giraffes. I’m talking about an experience where their heads are practically at arm’s reach.

Join me as I spill all the details on my Giraffe Manor adventure, and let’s delve into whether the enchantment is worth the price tag.

Kenya Breakfast With Giraffes

Experiencing breakfast with giraffes at Giraffe Manor in Kenya was enchanting for me. The day started early, around 5 or 6 am, as I stepped onto the balcony and found myself in the presence of these graceful giants. The sight of giraffes casually approaching, their long necks reaching towards me, creating a surreal and magical atmosphere that felt straight out of a storybook.

After the balcony rendezvous, I went to the dining room for breakfast. The setting was elegant, and the lingering charm of the giraffes’ morning visit enhanced the entire dining experience. The attentive staff ensured every moment was as delightful as the first giraffe encounter.

The magic continued as soon as I finished eating. The staff swiftly cleared away my dishes and replaced them with plates of animal pellets. This marked the beginning of the second chance to engage with the giraffes. As their heads emerged through the windows, it became a moment of connection as I held pellets for them to feed from my hand.

Exploring Giraffe Manor’s Sanctuary

At Giraffe Manor in Kenya, I found something super cool besides the famous breakfast with giraffes. There’s a special place called the Giraffe Sanctuary, and here’s why I loved it.

Private Entrance

The convenience of having a private entrance allowed me to access the Giraffe Sanctuary at any time. While the sanctuary is open to the public, the advantage of hotel access meant I could explore leisurely, avoiding crowded times and savoring a more personal connection with these majestic animals.

Feeding Time with Others

At the sanctuary, you get to feed the giraffes and other people. Even though it’s not just for you, it’s still super fun. The big giraffes and the cute babies all come up to eat, making it a lively and exciting place.

Feeding Baby Giraffes Was The Best Part

My favorite part was feeding the baby giraffes because their tongues were surprisingly gentle. On the flip side, interaction with the adult giraffes felt a bit more intense and the breakfast was terrible. Let’s just say the it didn’t wow me.

A Budget-Friendly Alternative

For those unable to afford a stay at Giraffe Manor, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting the Sanctuary. It offers a fulfilling alternative, allowing you to immerse yourself in the world of giraffes without the luxury accommodation cost. The opportunity to feed both adults and playful babies ensures a memorable wildlife encounter without breaking the bank.

The Retreat At Giraffe Manor

Nestled 80 meters from Giraffe Manor, The Retreat is a serene wellness escape in Nairobi. With open-plan spaces, high ceilings, and arched windows framing giraffe views, it promises an elegant experience.

My visit was enchanting. The serene atmosphere and the infinity pool’s giraffe views felt like a paradise within a paradise. Daisy’s Café offered a delightful culinary journey, and the wellness facilities provided a soothing escape.

Simply put, The Retreat at Giraffe Manor is a must-visit for those seeking tranquility, luxury, and a unique connection with wildlife. It turns a stay into a holistic experience, blending nature’s embrace with top-notch amenities.

Giraffe Manor Kenya Price Per Night

Staying at Giraffe Manor came with a hefty price tag of $2,500 per night for the two of us, and as I reflect on the experience, I find myself grappling with the question: Was it worth it? The answer, unfortunately, leans more towards disappointment. While the amazing giraffe interactions were undeniably magical, the overall value for the cost fell short.

Where To See Giraffes In Africa?

Africa is home to several places where you can witness giraffes in their natural habitat. Other than Giraffe Manor, where giraffes roam freely, offering an opportunity for intimate encounters during breakfast, there are a few more places, including:

  • Murchison Falls National Park

Known for its breathtaking savannah scenery, this park is a stronghold for Rothschild giraffes, providing thrilling game drives.

  • Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National Park is the habitat for an array of wildlife, including giraffes, buffalos, zebras, and a diverse range of bird species.

  • Masai Mara National Park

A premier safari destination in East Africa, Masai Mara is home to Africa’s Big Five game animals, including the elegant giraffes.

CONCLUSION: Kenya Breakfast With Giraffes At Giraffe Manor

Giraffe Manor is undeniably a unique and iconic destination. However, the high cost should be weighed against the offerings for those contemplating a visit. The food, a pivotal part of any luxury stay, left much to be desired. In all honesty, the steep price didn’t feel justified when considering the overall quality of the stay. While Giraffe Manor undoubtedly offers a one-of-a-kind encounter with giraffes, the elements of accommodation and culinary experience fell short of the expectations set by the exorbitant nightly rate.

For those seeking a more balanced blend of luxury and value for money, exploring alternative options might be worth considering.
