Do you want to explore the amazing nation of Cambodia? It has stunning beaches, fascinating towns, mouthwatering cuisine, and hospitable people. After 2 days of travel, I have compiled the best experiences into a 2-day itinerary that includes all the information you must get about Cambodia before planning your next trip. Let’s discuss what to do in Cambodia for 2 days!

Arrived at Angkor Wat at Dusk!
I went to Angkor Wat; we had to arrive right at dusk. There are many options available for traveling between major towns. You may take off between Cambodia’s major towns or choose to go leisurely and see the country via bus and rail.
If you want to see the rest of the nation by traveling through little towns, villages, and the countryside, then traveling by bus or rail provides an excellent window into everyday life. Although the cost is much lower, if you don’t mind spending a little more money, and time is not a concern, you should travel by bus. But generally speaking, riding the bus is less expensive than flying.
Of course, the time required is a drawback. While most internal flights in Cambodia take one to two hours, most bus journeys take six to eight hours. However, it allows you to unwind, gaze out the window, and take in the view at the moment.

Ta Prohm Temple from the Movie Lara Croft Tomb Raider

Then, I visited the Ta Prohm Temple from the movie Lara Croft Tomb Raider. It is a Buddhist temple in Angkor, Cambodia, commonly known as the “Tomb Raider Temple” or the “Angelina Jolie Temple.” It was included in the 2001 film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. When the temple was first constructed in 1186, it was known as Rajavihara, which translates to “Monastery of the King.”
I was very curious to learn about the rich history of this temple. A must-do activity for tourists is to watch the sunset from the top of Phnom Bakheng. The hike to this temple is somewhat challenging since it is high on a hill. Space is limited to 300 guests, so arrive by 4 p.m. to secure a place.
Getting pictures of the vista without anybody else in it might be challenging since you’ll share it with many other visitors. Although the sunset looked stunning, it wasn’t more stunning than any other you had seen. I think the chance to see the temple from above and spend a few hours relaxing and enjoying the stunning views makes this worthwhile.

Treat in Night Market!

Then, I went to the night market and ate insects. It is a normal treat there. When visiting Cambodia, some delicacies you must eat are:
- The dish known as fish amok is a type of curry made of coconut milk.
- Khmer curry paste, called kroeung, is made of shallots, garlic, turmeric root, galangal, fingerroot, Chinese ginger, and lemongrass. It’s often served with rice steam-cooked in a folded banana leaf.
A variety of meals from Cambodia include salad with banana flowers and fish amok. Lok Lak Beef is a beef dish cooked in a stir-fry with oyster sauce, vinegar, soy sauce, and palm sugar. It’s typically enjoyed with rice, although it sometimes includes an egg.
The favourite curry loved by tourists is Beef Saman! It’s made of coconut milk, peanuts, and a blend of spices, such as cardamom and coriander. Delicious! (If you visit this place, I suggest dining at Rikitikitavi for their Saraman Curry.)

Took a Tuk-tuk into Downtown Siem Reap

We stayed at Aman, a luxury hotel and resort in Siem Reap that offers private tours to famous villages and local areas of Cambodia. We booked it through a government tour operator. Then, I took a tuk-tuk into downtown Siem Reap. My tuk-tuk driver for two days in Siem Reap was very friendly. In Siem Reap, Cambodia, tuk-tuks commonly transport people and can be spotted waiting outside restaurants and other tourist destinations.

Best Restaurants in Town!

Numerous businesses are active in the region, and you must go zip lining, quad riding, or cycling. I have heard about the half-day bike tour around the rural areas of Cambodia. It seems incredible! You can ride by rice and wheat fields, passing through many communities and stopping for coconut water.
The tour operator comes to your hotel to pick you up and offers all the necessary equipment! They also provide mountain biking, bicycle excursions from Siem Reap to Chiang Mai, and cycle rides around the Angkor complex. The best restaurant in the town of Malis is cute and casual. It is pricey compared to most of Siem Reap.

It’s a Wrap!
The whole trip was 2 days. Cambodia offers a jam-packed itinerary filled with amazing adventures. There is so much history, culture, and beauty, from exploring the famous Ta Prohm Temple to gazing at the magnificent Angkor Wat at sunset. Enjoy the pleasures of Cambodia in the bustling night market, where eating regional specialities like insects is a must. We hope that this guide has shown you what to do in Cambodia for 2 days and why visiting Angkor Wat is worthwhile while you’re in Cambodia.
